Think big...no...think bigger...

In this post, I'd like to zoom out a bit....say, not the 30,000ft view as they say...but maybe more like the 10,000ft one. Basically, picture the town, and possibly the county, in which you live. The idea of fearless preservation applies not just to furniture, one home, an apartment complex, a block, etc...but it can be applied on a much bigger scale. Often it seems that developers are afraid of "old buildings" as they typically see a money pit instead of a money bag....indeed this could be the case, but it's all about planning, getting creative, and working with the local government. It is definitely possible to both preserve the past, adapt for current and future needs in the community, such as parking, and make money in the process. The link below will lead you to the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation's magazine and in that magazine is a little article I wrote titled "Bridge and Balance"....you may recognize that term from my homepage of this website as it is something I strive for...not only in my preservation projects, both big and small, but in life...I mean, why not?
Enjoy!
