It's a New Year, it's a New Day.....and I'm feeling good! Getting to it!

Well I'm starting off the year as my usual determined self and I wanted to finish this gorgeous table and chairs. The weather today was perfect for painting (remember humidity is not your friend Midge....for baking, for hair, or for painting)...so I took advantage of the day off and the weather and finished the table and chairs! It's now posted for sale on my website as well as FB marketplace if you, or if you know of anyone, who might want one of my furniture upcycle/renovation creations! This was a table I bought from a second hand shop..and actually with some ideas from my sister for the coloring and style (thanks sis!) I thought a super creamy cream color would be divine to accent the Frenchy scrolly legs (yes, I am taking some liberties with my wording and that's just fine). Then of course she had this brilliant idea to paint the rattan portion of the chair (the back of the chair) in a gold and it just glistens in the light, giving it a gold leafed look which adds to the luxurious feel of this set. Lastly, we found a slightly modern abstract floral print for the seats. I love mixing the old and new to create something new and this dining table and chairs does just that!

I was so glad that the weather worked out so I could complete this project and how fitting to do so on New Year's Day.

It's funny how we all tend to look back at the last year, and in this case the last decade, to see what we've accomplished, how life has generally been for us, where we may have moved, where we might have traveled, and the people in our lives, as well as to honor all of those awesome memories. Let's start off 2020 with clear vision (yes Midge, the pun was intended) and set some goals for ourselves...I plan to. After all, it's a new year, it's a new day...and I'm feeling good! Let's get to it!
